On Monday January 5, 2009 at 5:57 PM the Roxana Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a Structure Fire in the 13000 block of Jefferson Ave. in Edgewater Acres. Prior to our dispatch the Ocean City Vol. Fire Co. was also dispatched to the same alarm. Engines 712 and 716 from Ocean City arrived on location with heavy smoke conditions coming from the structure. The first in line found heavy smoke and fire in the structure and made a quick knock down and upon a primary search found a subject on the second floor and they removed them from the structure and Ocean City's paramedic unit transported the patient to Atlantic General Hospital. Roxana units along with Ocean City units completed extinguishing and overhauling the fire. Ocean City units cleared the scene at 9:00 PM with Roxana units clearing at 11:09 PM. The scene was turned over to Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
